Mr. Herman attended and graduated from West Deptford High School in West Deptford, New Jersey in 1986. Following graduation, Mr. Herman attended the University of Colorado in Boulder, graduating with a B.A. in Psychology with areas of concentration in Molecular Biology, Sociology, Romance Languages, and Military Science. After finishing training as an infantry officer at Ft. Benning, Georgia, Mr. Herman returned to New Jersey, beginning a civilian career in Mortgage Banking while actively drilling with the 1/315th Inf. (Mech.) U.S.A.R. out of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. During the course of his military service, Mr. Herman has served as an Infantry Squad Member, an Assistant Gunner, a Section Chief, a Platoon Leader, a Company Executive Officer, and a Battalion S-4.
After several years, Mr. Herman returned to school for his graduate degree in Law at the Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan. While in law school, Mr. Herman distinguished himself earning a large number of academic honors including a meritorious academic scholarship. Because of his legal acumen, Mr. Herman graduated early, was ranked 2nd in his class out of 142 other graduates, and scored in the top 1% of all Multi-State Bar Examination candidates. Mr. Herman's Juris Doctor degree carries the words "Magna Cum Laude" meaning "with great praise."
Following law school, Mr. Herman clerked in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Law Division-Criminal Part, Atlantic County. Approximately one year after his clerkship, Mr. Herman was published for his law review article dealing with mandatory minimum drug sentencing and prosecutorial discretion. Continuing in academia, Mr. Herman was formerly an adjunct faculty member with the Richard Stockton State College located in Pomona, New Jersey and continues to lecture at the university level.
Mr. Herman began riding at the age of 18, carving up the canyons and mountain passes in Colorado. Over 20 years later, Mr. Herman is still riding to this day. A graduate of the Kevin Schwantz Suzuki School at Road Atlanta, Mr. Herman is a true fan of performance sport bikes. On any given day, weather permitting, he can be found opening the throttle on his GSX-R K6 on the open roads or on his GSX-R 600 at the track.
Currently, Mr. Herman specializes in all areas of litigation and regularly deals with the legal issues which affect both riders and non-riders alike.
A self-professed "centrist," Mr. Herman follows the philosophical belief that there is a balance of governance and the rights of the people to be free from unreasonable intereference. He can often be found in court arguing for and protecting the rights of his clients.
